The Annapolis Naval Sailing Association Foundation Inc. is dedicated to the preservation of nautical skills, naval history, and the Chesapeake Bay environment through the support and encouragement of other non-profit organizations including the Annapolis Naval Sailing Association, U.S. Naval Sailing, Boy Scouts of America, Sea Scouts, Girl Scouts, and local high school Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (S.T.E.M.) programs.
The Annapolis Naval Sailing Association Foundation was founded in 2012 as an outgrowth of the Annapolis Naval Sailing Association. Organized as a purely non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, the Foundation recognized the need to:
The Foundation engages in cooperative ventures with schools and community organizations stressing practical, real-time experiences for high-school youth while sailing on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. The Foundation further promotes sailing skills for military and other affiliated personnel for attendance at approved courses of training programs through scholarships. The Foundation also sponsors worthwhile research projects related to the preservation of the environment.
